Hedwig House is governed by a Board of Directors who oversee the operation and direction of the agency. Our Board is comprised of community members with varied business and professional backgrounds, current Hedwig House members and family members of persons receiving mental health services. 

 George Nicolaus, Vice President

 George has been a member of the Board since 1998.  He is currently a member of Hedwig House and a Certified Peer Specialist.  His professional career includes work as an engineer and a mathematics teacher.

 Getting to know the "ins and outs" of Hedwig House and his relationships with other Board members are what George considers his rewards of being a Board member.  One important thing George would like people to know about Hedwig House is that the members are staff all work together each day on clubhouse projects.

 George's personal affiliations include being a member of NAMI, ASPCA, Amnesty International, MRDC, Villanova Alumni Association and LaSalle High School Alumni Association.  In his spare time, he enjoys his pet parakeet (Sunshine) and sporting events on television - especially Villanova basketball & football and the Phillies.
