Employment
Hedwig House Employment Services provide Members with the opportunity to secure full or part-time employment. Pre-employment training and assessment occurs by means of Member participation in vocational work group activities in the clubhouse where positive work habits and attitudes are encouraged and measured. The programmatic approach to vocational rehabilitation serves a population of persons with a varying degree of work skills and employment experience. On average 40% of our total membership are pursuing Employment related goals. For those Members not ready for employment, volunteer placements or assistance with further academic training is available.
Each of the clubhouses has an Employment Specialist on staff, who provide vocational training, ongoing counseling, work placement assistance, job coaching, and encouragement. They also help Members in obtaining assistance from the Office of Vocation Rehabilitation.
Through Clubhouse Programs, Residential Programs, Vocational Programs, and other socialization opportunities, Hedwig House, Inc. continues to offer support to persons whose accomplishments and quality of life have been challenged by mental illness.
The Hedwig House goal remains to assist our Members in achieving the highest level of personal independence possible.
