Suzanne Franks, co-owner of J.L. Freed Honda in Montgomeryville, graduated from Carnegie Mellon and worked as a software training consultant for Burroughs Corporation and McDonald Douglas. Suzanne and her husband, Don, have been married for over 44 years and work together to carry on the fourth generation family business, founded in 1883. Suzanne and her husband also have three grown children, and most recently welcomed their first grandchild.

Suzanne has been very active in the American Association of University Women (AAUW). A past President and Chairman of numerous committees, she led the development and management of a program called Curtain Time for Kids, fine entertainment for community children and a major source of funding for the Association. She is still very active in supporting AAUW and its community outreach programs. She also enjoys subgroups such as an investment club, book group and the scholarship committee. Suzanne also plays a significant role at the church her parents supported for many years, St. John’s United Church of Christ. She volunteers many hours with the gardening group, and several fund raising and spiritual initiatives. In addition, she also leads a group in support of the National Needlework Guild, a group dedicated to providing clothing and personal needs for those less fortunate in our community and beyond. In addition and in conjunction with the Caring for Kids Foundation, she organizes and coordinates the dealership effort in support of the Driving Away the Cold campaign, providing new coats to children in the Philadelphia area.

In her spare time, Suzanne enjoys, traveling, reading, gardening and spending time with her family. Suzanne and her husband were honored with the Patricia Kind legacy award at Hedwig House’s 4th Annual Fundraiser in 2016. Hedwig House has had the pleasure of working closely with Suzanne and J.L. Freed Honda over the last several years are extremely grateful for her continued dedication and support to our organization.
