Nelson J. Acevedo is a Vice President and Community Development Officer with PNC Community Development Banking, where he advances economic opportunity and community revitalization through strategic partnerships, community development lending and investment, philanthropic grantmaking, and financial education initiatives across the Greater Philadelphia region.
With nearly 20 years of experience in community development, Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) strategy, affordable housing, mortgage lending, and financial empowerment, Nelson works closely with nonprofit organizations, community development corporations, affordable housing providers, and public-sector partners to expand access to capital and strengthen underserved communities.
In his current role, Nelson develops and manages community partnerships, identifies CRA-qualified lending and investment opportunities, oversees foundation grants and sponsorships, and coordinates employee volunteer efforts that support financial education and neighborhood development initiatives. He is committed to helping individuals and families build financial capability, achieve homeownership, and create long-term economic stability.
Nelson joined PNC in 2007 and has held positions of increasing responsibility within Community Development Banking. Prior to joining PNC, he served as a Senior Loan Officer with Citizens Mortgage Corporation, where he originated more than $60 million in CRA-qualified residential mortgage loans and gained extensive experience in affordable homeownership and community-focused lending.
An active community leader, Nelson serves on the boards and advisory committees of several nonprofit organizations, including the Housing Equality Center of Pennsylvania, Affordable Housing Centers of Pennsylvania, Willow Grove Community Development Corporation, Hedwig House, Inc., Habitat for Humanity Bucks County's Donor Relations Committee, and Credit Counseling Center.
Bilingual in English and Spanish, Nelson is recognized for his collaborative leadership, relationship-building skills, and dedication to creating equitable opportunities for individuals, families, and communities.
